LeRoy Lions Club
The LeRoy Lions have served the community since 2013. The club is comprised of around 20 community members who plan and run service projects and fundraisers year-round. A large majority of the club’s generated funds remain in the community to finance future service projects. The club also contributes to groups associated with Lions Clubs International, such as the Lions International Foundation
One of the club’s biggest local fundraisers is the Boulevard of Flags, when around 150 American flags are placed at subscribers’ homes on five flag-related holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Patriot Day.
The Lions also host various drive-by meal fundraisers to finance projects, such as “Alison’s Care Cards,” which provides gift cards to community members undergoing long-term medical care. The club also supports the residents at Wildwood Grove Assisted Living & Memory Care through quarterly activities.
The club also supports LeRoy-Ostrander Schools through regular staff appreciation events.
Each spring, the Lions host the Spring Fling & Family Fun day as a way to get the community, and especially young families, together.
These are just some examples of what the LeRoy Lions do. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month at the LeRoy Community Center. All are welcome to see what this worldwide service organization is all about and consider becoming a member.
