The Shooting Star Bike trail begins in LeRoy, travels through Lake Louise State Park, through the tunnel under State Highway 56 to Taopi, traveling to Adams, past Norwegian Hill to Rose Creek, and on to Austin to the Hormel Nature Center.

The paved bike trail wanders through Lake Louise State Park along the Upper Iowa River and through several woods. It then turns into open prairie and along some crop fields. This bike trail will definitely give you a variety of landscapes. Start your ride at the Trail Head located north-east of the high school football field. The Shooting Star Trail is comprised of 30 miles of ‘Remnant Tall Grass Prairie’ and native wildflowers along Minnesota Highway 56 from Interstate 90 near Austin, going southeast through the cities of Rose Creek, Adams and Taopi, and through Lake Louise State Park near the Minnesota/Iowa state line, ending at the eastern trail head in LeRoy. The Shooting Star Trail is supported by Prairie Visions.
