6 things to know about the Basket Social & Family Fun Day on May 18

The LeRoy Commercial Club is excited to host the 2025 Basket Social and Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 18, from 3-7:30 p.m. at the LeRoy Community Center.

Here are six things to know and share about the event:

Schedule
The Family Fun Day kicks off at 3 p.m. with the silent auction, games, Cake Walk, Bounce House, cotton candy and ice cream. The live auction begins at 6 p.m.

Kids
Thanks to a generous donation from the LeRoy Community Foundation, all kids games, including the Bounce House, will be free with unlimited play time. Each child will also receive a certificate for cotton candy and ice cream. The Commercial Club appreciates the Foundation’s support.

Food
The Commercial Club will provide brats and hot dog meals, including chips and water, for $5. Bring your own beverage, including alcoholic ones. It’s ok!

Donations
If you would like to donate an item to the silent or live auction, please bring it to City Hall by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 16.

Cake Walk
Donations of baked goods for the Cake Walk game are still urgently needed. If you would like to donate something, please plan on donating a plate of cookies, bars or anything that fits into an 8×8-inch pan. The Commercial Club would like to create a prize pool of items that are equal in size. Baked items can be dropped off beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Competing events
It has come to the Commercial Club’s attention that the Basket Social conflicts with Senior Awards and Baccalaureate at L-O Schools this year. The club will adjust the live auction by auctioning off some of the bigger items right after 6 p.m. The club will also accept bidders who would like to bid on someone’s behalf, while they attend other events.

All proceeds will go toward Summer Fest and other local events.
