City of LeRoy to launch text notification system Nov. 27

Posted: November 22, 2024

The City of LeRoy is introducing TextMyGov, a text messaging service designed to streamline communication and keep residents informed.

The service officially launches on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Residents may receive a welcome message from 91896 as part of the rollout. If you receive this message, there’s no need to take further action unless you wish to opt out. To opt out, text STOP.

If you don’t receive the initial message, joining is easy. Text the word LEROY to 91896, then confirm by replying YES. Standard text messaging rates apply.

Once enrolled, you’ll receive timely notifications on topics like road construction, utility outages, public meetings, events, and more, all delivered right to your phone.

The City of LeRoy’s use of this technology is another example of our commitment to enhance public communication and engagement and improve services. LeRoy joins communities across the nation in adopting TextMyGov to meet residents’ need for information at their fingertips.
