The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites you to join  a ceremonial ribbon cutting event on Friday, May 30, in LeRoy to celebrate the completion of the Highway 56 reconstruction project.

About the event

The event will begin at 10 a.m. along the sidewalk area in front of the Community Center at 204 West Main Street and includes brief speeches and a ribbon cutting with community leaders.

About the project

A 1.2-mile stretch of Highway 56 was reconstructed in 2024 in LeRoy to address deteriorating pavement conditions, improve drainage, enhance student crosswalk safety and make pedestrian improvements to meet current accessibility standards. At the same time, the city of LeRoy replaced aging city utilities underneath the road. Final paving, striping and tree planting were completed this month.
