LeRoy EDA crowns winners in Summer Photo Contest

Posted: September 12, 2024

The LeRoy Economic Development Authority (EDA) has crowned three winners in its Summer Photo Contest on Facebook. After followers cast almost 900 votes to pick their favorites from 16 submissions, Sue Speer, Kate Rohrer and Rachel Winfield emerged as the top three winners.

First place

Sue Speer evoked a lot of nostalgia with her photo of an old water pump in the sunset. The pump used to be on the practice football field in LeRoy quenching players’ thirst and now sits at the Speer cabin east of LeRoy. Speer won $30 in LeRoy Bucks.

Kate Rohrer won second place for her photo of a massive lightning bolt. She captured her photo at the perfect time during a summer storm near her home north of LeRoy. Rohrer won $20 in LeRoy Bucks.

Rachel Winfield won third place for her photo of her daughter Scarlett and her cows on a summer day at the family farm near Ostrander. She says that Scarlett loves to be outside with the cows. Winfield won $10 in LeRoy Bucks.
